Application
The Oxalic Acid Vaporizer is an essential tool for beekeepers aiming to combat Varroa mites, a pervasive threat to bee colonies. This device is specifically designed for the sublimation of oxalic acid, a highly effective treatment method that targets Varroa mites without harming the bees. The vaporizer is particularly useful during the broodless period when Varroa mites are most exposed and vulnerable. It is powered by a 12-volt battery, making it versatile and suitable for use in various settings, including apiaries located in remote areas.

The application process involves placing the vaporizer into the hive through the entrance, sealing all other openings to ensure the oxalic acid vapor is contained within the hive. The vaporizer heats the oxalic acid, causing it to sublimate and fill the hive with a fine mist that penetrates the mites' exoskeletons, leading to their dehydration and death. This method is highly effective, with studies showing up to 95% efficacy in controlling Varroa mite populations when applied correctly. The Oxalic Acid Vaporizer is a must-have for both novice and experienced beekeepers looking to maintain healthy and thriving bee colonies.

Feature
The Oxalic Acid Vaporizer boasts a range of features designed to enhance its efficiency and ease of use:
- Durable Construction: Made from anti-corrosive stainless steel and high-quality copper, the vaporizer is built to withstand the rigors of frequent use without compromising performance.

- Ergonomic Design: The wooden handle provides a comfortable grip, making it easy to operate even during extended use. The overall design is user-friendly, catering to both beginners and seasoned beekeepers.
- Fast Heating: The upgraded metal copper head ensures rapid and complete evaporation of oxalic acid, allowing for quick and efficient treatment of bee colonies.

- Versatile Power Source: The vaporizer can be powered by a 12-volt lawnmower, tractor, motorcycle, or car battery, offering flexibility in various beekeeping environments.
- Safety: The device is designed with bee safety in mind, ensuring that the treatment process is both effective and non-invasive. The vaporizer's design minimizes the risk of harm to the bees while maximizing the impact on Varroa mites.
Principle
The principle behind the Oxalic Acid Vaporizer is based on the sublimation of oxalic acid, a process where the solid acid is converted directly into a vapor without passing through the liquid phase. This vapor is then dispersed throughout the hive, coming into direct contact with the Varroa mites. The sharp acid crystals penetrate the mites' exoskeletons, causing damage that leads to dehydration and eventual death.

Research indicates that oxalic acid is particularly effective during the broodless period when the mites are not protected within capped cells. The vaporizer's design ensures that the acid is evenly distributed throughout the hive, maximizing its efficacy. Additionally, the use of oxalic acid does not lead to resistance in mites, making it a sustainable and long-term solution for Varroa control. The vaporizer's ability to deliver precise doses of oxalic acid ensures that the treatment is both effective and safe for the bees.
Advantage
The Oxalic Acid Vaporizer offers several advantages over other Varroa mite treatment methods:
- High Efficacy: The vaporizer achieves up to 95% efficacy in controlling Varroa mite populations, making it one of the most effective treatment options available.
- Bee Safety: The treatment is non-invasive and does not harm the bees, ensuring that the colony remains healthy and productive.
- No Resistance: Unlike chemical treatments, oxalic acid does not lead to resistance in Varroa mites, providing a sustainable solution for long-term mite control.
- Ease of Use: The vaporizer is easy to operate, with a straightforward process that can be quickly mastered by both novice and experienced beekeepers.
- Versatility: The ability to power the vaporizer with a 12-volt battery makes it suitable for use in various settings, including remote apiaries.
- Cost-Effective: The durable construction and efficient design of the vaporizer make it a cost-effective investment for beekeepers looking to protect their colonies from Varroa mites.
How to use:
To treat your beehive with oxalic acid using this vaporizer follow the steps below:
1. First put some oxalic acid on the acid tray.
2. Insert the vaporizer into the beehive through the bottomhive entrance and seal all other entrances, cracks, screensor spaces where oxalic acid vapor could escape through.
3. Once the hive is properly sealed, connect the vaporizerto a battery and wait for all the acid to be vaporized.
4. After all the oxalic acid you added is vaporizeddisconnect the vaporizer from the battery.
5. Once that is done, you may remove the vaporizer fromthe hive or leave it in place.
6. Keep the hive sealed up for another 10 minutes or moreto lock the oxalic acid vapor in the hive.
