Then place the plunger in the tube and slowly push the plunger upwards with the plastic grate facing upwards. The queen will then crawl onto the sponge of the plunger and you can them gently hold her still against the grate to be marked. Then slowly release the plunger and catch the queen and put her back in the hive.
